It is in some ways a reminder that we are all the results of our life crucibles--the deepest challenges--and chapters that are sometimes miserable, but where we persevere.
Meet Ronan. In this young teen's life, it was a journey through put downs and derision that brought today's featured Hope teen to ask his parents to advocate for him, to find a new supportive education setting, and to help him put his learning challenges in perspective.
Imagine being told that you're lazy, because you are struggling to express yourself.
Or told to try harder, because you have a significant challenge focusing.
We found hope--and Ronan--at our Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester partner last fall.
Ronan found his unique leadership story in his work with his parents, with BGCD, and with Hope.
He reports that he is now flourishing.
And now so confident that he can be seen giving advice to the country's top leadership.
