Today, Hope is proud to feature Istanbul and Asma, middle school students at Malik Academy who take on the thorny issue of when to assert yourself in difficult situations—and when to observe and remain calm. "If someone you see in the street is being rude to you," Istanbul explains, "there's no point in arguing with them because you're never gonna see them again." However, Asma adds, "if it's a friend or one of your family members, it might be a positive thing if you address them." The friends describe a process they created: being practical, being analytic, listening to conscience, and then figuring out the best way to work things out with people you care about.
In today's Hope Clip, these two developing leaders bring their soft and firm leadership selves—and show their humor and imagination in the creative process. "You are always a leader," Asma says. "No matter what...you can be a leader to a group of people and you can teach them the right thing."
