We are pleased to report that Hope Collaborative recently partnered with the Lowell High Schools PALS Mentoring program in Lowell, Massachusetts for a day of leadership development, bonding, and envisioning what is possible when youth become leaders.
Kevin Sheehan and Chip Carter delivered an energized leadership development workshop for the PALS teens to begin what we hope will be a rich collaboration. Key topics included Building Self Esteem, Discovering Purpose, and Resolving a Conflict.
Youth participants participated with energy and excitement, delivering powerful insights around each topic. Leadership stories from the neighborhood ran from how to focus youth leaders in social impact even in the face of tough teens and unreasonable adults--to the power of developing a learning community that cares about each other.
PALS participants made considerable progress, and brought excitement to the day's offerings. Developing as a leader requires a breadth of competencies, and we were excited to watch the youth audience develop several in the interactive sessions.
Wishing our new friends in Lowell, and all of you, fantastic summer memories.
We look forward to launching several new Hope programs and curriculum components in the fall.
