It is a fundamental capacity for leaders. Many consider the process of self-awareness a fulfilling life-long journey.
We believe it best to get started early—and to reinforce the principles throughout your work life and personal life as a leader.
"Know thyself" or "gnothi seauton" is not just a concept for the Ancient Greeks. Although hats off to the Ancients—who invented hats—for getting the ball rolling. :)
Back to school season is now in full swing in the United States, but Hope's education partners in India have already started with big energy. And so we were thrilled to see the Hope participants at the Presidency School in Nizamabad, India kick off the fall season with a piece of art announcing, "I'm going to learn Self-Awareness."
We are excited to see the creativity and thoughtful engagement of these young leaders emerging around the concepts of knowing oneself.
Whether they use the "mood meter" (Yale University) to check in with their emotions, create lists based on their core values, or respond to English and Telugu-language media clips about self-awareness, Hope participants in India are showing a high level of commitment and willingness to take risks in opening up to their classmates and facilitators about who they are.
We're excited to share some of their work with you here.
And we anticipate with baited breath—that we work to stay aware of in our daily meditation—what else they produce over the course of the fall!
