Just this week, students in Self-Awareness at Malik Academy in Roxbury, MA reached out to the kids at the Presidency School in Nizamabad, India with messages and artwork inspired by photos of our young leadership development participants in India.
Mohamed writes from Roxbury:
"Hello class in India—I saw the picture and I was impressed. Even though you are in a different country, you are still having a very good education. I am very happy and proud. Keep it up!"
Marwah shares her story of leadership—and asks about the Presidency kids' experience:
"I hope you're having fun being part of Hope Collaborative. I made a video with my group...what projects have you created with your friends? What was your favorite one?"
Mujadid says: "I just wanted to say to have hope!!! This is one of my favorite pictures that I've made. It is very special to me because it was one of the first pictures that I made in Hope Collaborative. Just remember, have hope!!"
The kids and teens are now sharing creative journal pages, poetry, and encouragement.
They ask questions about what it means to become a leader on the other side of their world. How exciting to hear kids and teens eager to engage with one another—and build understanding—across the oceans!
We look forward to these new conversations—and will let you know how they progress!
