Hope's partners at BGCD have built one of the most dynamic and well-established youth advocacy organizations in the region. BGCD serves at-risk youth in the local community with 3 clubhouses and over 200 activities and groups for children ages 5-18.
It is our pleasure to collaborate with the staff and kids at such a dynamic institution with Hope Collaborative's Leadership Development programming.
Out of the gate, teens participating have begun collaborating with developing leaders around the world. Maisha, a 6th grader at BGCD, was inspired by this quote from a participant at the Presidency School in Nizamabad India: "The only thing stronger than fear is Hope!" She then created the poster you see here in collaboration with Hope's Head Facilitator Ezra Greenfield. Hope participants at BGCD have consistently impressed us with their creativity, social awareness, and drive to make a positive impact on their communities.
Maisha was so inspired by her leadership work that she went on to write an anti-bullying essay for a school competition, which earned her a place on her school's merit roll. Her writing described all students's potential to form positive relationships with each other and to overcome obstacles.
We are so inspired by Maisha and all of the other hard-working Hope participants at the Boys and Girls Clubs!
